Clothing
- Khaki and other neutral colours such as beige and green are recommended as bright colours may stand out too much, especially on bush walks.
- Avoid dark coloured clothing as they will absorb heat during the day, and tsetse flies love colours like blue and black.
- Sweaters or layering for cold mornings and evenings, especially during the cooler season from June to October.
- Walking shoes and sandals
- Raincoat during rainy seasons (March to May and November to December)
- Long-sleeved shirts and long trousers are good in the evenings to lessen the chance of being bitten by mosquitoes.

Try and leave behind expensive and bulky items.
Divide cash into different areas of your belongings, (carry-on luggage, wallet and/or suitcases.)
