Tarangire

Tarangire National Park is a stunningly beautiful park. The landscape and vegetation here is incredibly diverse and full of wildlife, especially during the dry season and around the Tarangire River. It’s a haven for elephant and bird lovers and you can regularly spot eland, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and wildebeests. Also spotted are kudu, oryx, gerenuk and the lions and leopards of the park hidden behind the tall grass or up in the branches of trees. This is a park where you can slow down because there is so much to observe: from the fauna, to the birds, to seeing a herd of elephants one moment and the next a tiny turtle wading out of a puddle the next. Another distinguishing characteristic of this park is the abundance of ancient Baobab trees and red termite mounds that dot the landscape. Sunsets are incredible and illuminates the landscape, revealing even more of its beautiful features.

Best time to go:
Wildlife viewing is very good throughout the year, however animals are easier to find during the dry season (June to October), as they head to the park’s remaining water sources.
