Our personal experience and that of clients is that it is very safe and pleasant to travel in Tanzania now. Our philosophy as well has always been: far from the beaten track, private, detox and reconnect to yourself .. so this new reality is actually not that new. That attempt to “isolate” you is only being taken a little further.
We also continue with….
A daily temperature measurement of staff including drivers, guides, and hotel staff takes place to ensure that they are healthy.
No hands are shaken, only waved.
At our selected lodges, A Covid-19 coordinator has been appointed to ensure that the protocols are observed, instructs the staff and keeps everyone informed of the latest information.
We ensure there are always sufficient means to wash and disinfect hands.
Accommodations, dining areas, and transport is kept private and so contact with others is minimal.

Most airlines flying to Tanzania have resumed international passenger flights to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro.
Tanzania is one of the few African countries where no Covid-19 test has to be presented upon entry. However, some airlines do require that a Covid-19 test be carried out up to 72 hours before departure. Please clarify this with the selected airline.
Passengers may be subject to COVID-19 screening upon arrival. Passengers may also be subjected to temperature screening on arrival. However there is no mandatory 14-day quarantine for passengers arriving in Tanzania.
All accommodations on our itineraries have implemented sanitary procedures to ensure a safe experience for our guests during their safari. Our drivers and guides as well are prepped with the necessary safety measures to take with guests. Due to the low volume of visitors, interaction with other people will be at a minimum to ensure further reduced risk of infection.
Travel during this time is especially rewarding as many of the popular parks will be without the usual crowds. Connecting to the wilderness around you will definitely be much more of an intimate and memorable experience.
Where can you get tested in Tanzania?
Visitors can get tested in all major cities like Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. PCR tests can be carried out in Arusha, for example, at Mount Meru Hospital and the Arusha Lutheran Medical Center. Corona tests can also be carried out moderately in the Serengeti. The cost is $110 per person. Rapid tests can also be carried out at the airports of Kilimanjaro International Airport, Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) and Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) in Zanzibar. These tests cost $ 25 per person.
